Choosing a Website Design

Pick the right website design for your church and learn what each layout offers.

Your church's website comes with pre-built designs that handle the layout, fonts, and overall look for you. You pick a design, then fill in your own content. No design experience needed.

Available Designs

Conversation Starter

A welcoming layout that greets visitors with quick options like "I'm New", "Plan a Visit", or "Watch a Service". Designed to help people find what they're looking for right away.

  • Large main photo with a headline and quick-action cards
  • Your team members displayed prominently
  • Upcoming events and service times
  • Multiple photo layout options (see below)
Conversation Starter puts quick-action cards front and center for new visitors

Classic

A warm editorial design that puts your people, gatherings, and welcome front and center. Classic gives each kind of content its own composition, so service times feel like a clear schedule, events read like stories, and team photos feel personal instead of looking like a generic card grid.

  • A large, framed welcome image with visitor-friendly copy
  • Your next gathering shown directly below the opening image
  • Distinct layouts for events, groups, leaders, and prayer
  • Optional Still, Subtle, and Parallax motion settings
Classic combines familiar church content with a warmer, more editorial presentation

The Gathering Room

A warm, human-centered design that feels like stepping into a welcoming room. Instead of placing text over a large hero image, it brings your welcome, community photo, and next gathering together in one calm opening composition.

  • Your next service and visitor details near the top
  • Upcoming events and useful paths for members and visitors
  • Large, prominent photos of your real people
  • Graceful layouts even when you have only a little content
The Gathering Room pairs especially well with the warm, dark Sanctuary theme

Neighborhood Map

A visual, exploratory layout that organizes your content into different areas visitors can browse — like exploring a neighborhood. Each area has its own title, description, and icon.

  • A grid of browsable areas with icons and descriptions
  • A featured center section for your main message
  • Quick previews when hovering over each area
  • Your team members and upcoming events

Photo Layout Options

Some designs (like Conversation Starter) let you choose how your main photo is displayed. Watch the page reflow as each option is selected:

Each layout option instantly changes how your main photo is displayed
  • Full screen — Your photo fills the entire top of the page with text overlaid on top.
  • Side by side — Your photo sits next to the headline and action cards.
  • Above content — Your photo appears above the cards in its own section.
  • No photo — Skip the photo entirely and lead with your headline and cards.

Classic Motion Options

When Classic is selected, the toolbar includes a motion control. Choose the option that best matches the feeling you want visitors to have:

  • Still — Keeps every section steady with no entrance or scroll movement.
  • Subtle — Gently reveals sections as visitors move down the page. This is the default.
  • Parallax — Adds restrained depth to the main photo while scrolling.

Note

Parallax automatically becomes gentler on phones, while editing, and on devices that may struggle with extra movement. Visitors who prefer reduced motion will always see the Still experience.
