Attendance Tracking
Track attendance across services, view weekly and yearly analytics, and monitor member retention with absence tracking.
Attendance tracking helps you understand engagement patterns across your congregation. The attendance section provides a weekly overview, yearly analytics, and retention tracking to help you identify and follow up with absent members.
Navigating to Attendance
Open the Attendance tab
Weekly Overview
The Overview tab shows attendance for a specific week. At the top you will see summary statistics:
- Total — total attendance count for the week
- Unique Members — number of distinct people who attended
- Avg / Service — average attendance per service
Use the week picker arrows to navigate to previous or future weeks. Below the stats, you will see attendance broken down by individual services.
Service Attendance
Each service within the selected week shows its own attendance summary. This lets you compare attendance across different service times (e.g., 9 AM vs. 11 AM) and identify which services are growing or declining.
Yearly Analytics
The Analytics tab provides a bird's-eye view of attendance trends over the past year. This includes:
- Attendance trends over time (weekly or monthly)
- Year-over-year comparisons
- Seasonal patterns and peak attendance periods
Tip
Retention Tracking
The Retention tab helps you identify members who have been absent for an extended period. This is one of the most important tools for pastoral care — it surfaces people who may need a check-in call or visit.
The absence report shows members sorted by how many consecutive weeks they have been absent. You can use this list to:
- Identify members who have missed 3 or more weeks
- Trigger outreach from your care team
- Feed into smart lists for automated follow-up
Note
Permissions
Attendance tracking requires these permissions:
- attendance.view — view attendance data and reports
- attendance.edit — record or modify attendance entries
- attendance.manage — full control over attendance settings and data
