One post, start to finish: pick the networks, write it, attach photos, check the preview, and choose between scheduling it and sending it now.
Compose post sits at the top right of the Social Hub. It is greyed out until a Facebook Page is connected — see Connect Facebook and Instagram if it is.
Everything a post needs is in one drawer, with the preview beside it as you type.
Write it
1
Choose where it goes
Post to at the top takes Facebook, Instagram, or both. Picking both makes one post for each network, so each one publishes and reports on its own.
2
Write the post
Type into the box. The emoji button inserts at your cursor rather than at the end. If your church has the AI Assistant add-on, Write with AI drafts or rewrites the text for you; you always see the result before it goes anywhere.
Note
A counter appears as you near the limit. Instagram cuts captions at 2,200 characters, and a post going to Instagram is held to that; Facebook alone allows 63,206.
3
Add a link, if it has somewhere to go
Link in the toolbar under the text attaches one. Posts go out without a link unless you add it, because Facebook shows link posts to fewer people unless your Page has Meta Verified. Event beside the link fills it from your upcoming events, which is quicker and less error-prone than pasting. The × takes the link off again.
Note
Instagram does not make links in captions clickable. Hubl still adds the link — appended to the end of the caption as text — so people can read it, but they cannot tap it. For Instagram, point people at the link in your bio instead.
4
Attach photos and videos
Photos and Video both pick from your photo gallery, or ones you upload there. A post holds up to ten in all, and more than one makes a carousel that can mix photos and videos. Drag the thumbnails to set the order; the first one is the cover.
Note
Facebook can't post a video alongside anything else. A Facebook post carries photos or a single video, so a carousel with a video in it goes to Instagram only. The composer tells you if the post you built won't fit Facebook.
Warning
On Instagram, media is required. The line beside the button says so, and the button stays disabled until you add a photo or a video.
Check the preview
The preview beside the composer (under it on a small screen) shows the post roughly as Facebook or Instagram will lay it out, under your Page’s name. When the post goes to both, switch between them above the preview. It is an approximation — the networks control the real appearance, and link cards in particular can look different once published. Use it to catch an awkward line break or a cropped photo, not to judge exact spacing.
Schedule it, or send it now
5
Post now, or schedule it
At the bottom, Post now publishes as soon as you press the button. Schedule shows Date and Time, read in your organization’s timezone and stepping in fifteen-minute increments. The line beside the button says exactly what will happen, or what is still missing.
Note
A scheduled post publishes on Hubl’s next run rather than to the second. Runs happen every fifteen minutes, so treat the time you set as “this quarter hour”, not 10:00:00.
After it is scheduled
The post joins the timeline on the Social Hub, grouped by day, newest first. Its chip says where it has got to:
Scheduled — waiting for its time. You can Edit, Post now or Cancel it.
Publishing — on its way to the network right now. Nothing to do; it resolves within a few minutes.
Published — done, with View on Facebook or View on Instagram to open it. Views, reach, comments, reactions and clicks appear on the card once Hubl has collected them.
Failed — it did not go out, and the reason is printed on the card. See When a post fails.
Cancelled — you called it off. It stays as a record until you Remove it.
Draft — part of a campaign that has not been scheduled yet. Open campaign takes you to where it is edited.
Tip
The chips above the timeline are filters as well as counts — click Failed to see only what needs attention. When posts for both networks exist, a Facebook / Instagram filter appears beside them, and Calendar swaps the list for a month view when you are looking for gaps rather than problems.
Editing and reusing
Edit reopens the drawer for a post that has not gone out yet; change the wording, the media or the time. Its network stays as it is — use Duplicate for a copy on the other one. A published post cannot be edited from Hubl — edit or delete it on Facebook or Instagram itself.
Duplicate works on any post, published ones included. It opens a new post carrying the same text, link and photos, which is the quickest route to next month’s version of a notice you send often. If you find yourself duplicating the same post over and over, put it in an evergreen queue instead.
